Since baseball season is upon us, I had to open with a line from one of my favorite movies of all time, Field of Dreams. Actually, the whispering voice in the movie says, “If you build it, he will come.” In the movie Ray Kinsella, played by Kevin Costner, listens to this voice and ends up building a baseball diamond in the middle of a cornfield. Ray embarks on a journey to understand the meaning of the message and the purpose behind building the field.
We didn’t exactly build a baseball field and the voices we heard were actually from our customer base. Our customers ask, “Do you have the capability to repair your products?” After months of careful thought and consideration, we decided to open a facility in Greenville, SC focused on the repair of all Master and Reeves products (MotoDrive, Master XL, APG, ComboGear, and Ultima).
Master PT officially opened the doors of this new facility on January 7, 2016. Prior to opening, we spent considerable time locating a building that would allow us to be scalable as our business grows. We found the perfect spot located close to our headquarters in downtown Greenville. Ironically, it isn’t too far from Shoeless Joe Jackson Memorial Park.
The space houses all the necessary machinery and test equipment to repair and test the entire breadth and width of our product portfolio. Beyond our current footprint, the flexible space can be doubled as our business grows. We are excited about this new facility and all the possibilities it holds for Master PT.
If you wondering about the ending of the movie: It turns out that the story is about a father-son reconciliation and Ray’s vision turns into reality as hundreds of cars show up full of people to watch baseball.
